Below is a check list when I look for a web hosting service.
1. Is disk space > 200 MB?
2. Traffic per month > 1 GB?
3. SSI?
4. Password-protected directory?
5. CGI/Perl/PHP?
6. mySQL database?
7. Fantastico (optional)?
9. Cpanel (Optional)?
10. Add-on domains (Optional)?
11. SSH access (Optional)?
12. Cron (Optional)?
13. Unix/Linux Based (Optional)?
Things to watch out:
-- Does it mention 99.9% Uptime anywhere?
-- Does it mention money back somewhere?
-- 24/7/365 or Live Support?
-- Read the "About Us" page to figure out if this is a one-man company running from this guy's house.
